Everyone will know that it’s been a challenging few years with prices skyrocketing. This has particularly impacted the whole events sector, with some infrastructure and delivery costs surging by 30%-40%, while essentials like fuel and transportation have nearly doubled.
On top of that, we have been impacted by the two-year break of in person events, and a lower turnout in 2023 due to no rail services into our city and bad weather.
Through all this, we’re proud to have upheld our community fundraising commitments and fulfilled other obligations in 2023.
Over the next few years, Pride is facing an additional £300,000 in costs to support Brighton & Hove City Council’s citywide impact outside our event footprint, so we’ve had to make some difficult decisions.
Whilst we remain committed to our fundraising mission, we’ve had to make some tough decisions to ensure a sustainable future. Fabuloso ticket prices must align with comparable large scale events and queers festivals.
We are however offering a variety of lower priced and discounted tickets to make the event accessible to all, including:
• 500 x Free tickets to Pride volunteers (see link)
• 2,000 x £25 community tickets for community parade entries
• 6,000 x half price tickets on our Low Income Ticket Scheme (see link)
• The option to pay in instalments over several months for as little as £12 per month (+ fees) (must be booked no later than 31st March 2024)
• 7,000 tickets available below £40.00 in the super early bird release
• Fabulous Friends Group Tickets, Buy 6 and save £10 – £30 per ticket!
We also plan to increase our minimum contribution to £5 per ticket which is distributed through the Brighton Rainbow Fund, Pride Social Impact Fund and Pride Cultural Development Fund as well as our future objective is to support our grass route Pride events to continue to deliver FREE events through a new Pride solidarity fund.
