Get ready to rock out at the Sheila McWattie Women’s Performance Stage this year as we welcome Z-STAR to Brighton Pride. To hear Z-STAR is to feel alive. The band, led by the enigmatic frontwoman, writer and producer Zee Gachette, have been dubbed “the lesbian Jim Morrison” by Diva Magazine. Fresh from their Glastonbury debut, Z-STAR have been wowing audiences around Europe and Australia with their high octane transcendental live performances, even bringing rock royalty Jimmy Page and Roger Daltrey to their feet, when they won Best Live Act at the Brighton Music Awards.

Described as a “legend in her lifetime” by Diva Magazine, Zee demonstrates unbridled commitment to her music, supporting, collaborating or sharing the stage with acts including Beverly Knight, Johnny Winter, Deap Vally, Nigel Kennedy, The Noisettes, Eric Clapton, Ben Harper, Richie Havens, Deep Purple and Arthur Brown, as well as her music being featured on TV shows, films and compilation albums worldwide.

With reviews as hot as Z-STAR’s tracks, BBC Radio 2 declared her “One to watch!” Classic Rock the Blues Magazine called her a “new blues star of the future” whilst Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin simply said the band was “a force of nature”, Z-STAR will continue to impress fans and critics alike with their killer new album 16 Tons of Love. Expect powerful cinematic 70s influenced psychedelic rock, soul-soaked blues and beefy garage funk from the new album tracks.

Many fans have met their life partners at Z-STAR gigs, the audience feel so connected by Zee’s presence and energy that the love starts to flow. And then there’s The Cum Song if you’re extra lucky! So get set to be transported to another dimension this summer and rock the funk out as Z-STAR (performing as a trio) bring it to The Sheila McWattie Women’s Performance Stage this Brighton Pride.
