TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

By signing up to the Pride Rainbow Run (“The Event”) you agree to the following terms:

The Pride Rainbow Run 2017 is organised and administered by Brighton Pride Community Interest Company, whose registered office is at The Old Ironworks, Unit 2, 30 Cheapside Brighton, BN1 4GD (“we” or “us” which expression includes our employees, event officials, authorised agents, sub-contractors or volunteers)

Travelling to The Event

By signing up to take part in The Event, you accept complete responsibility for your own personal safety, and we can not be held responsible for any injury or accident which may occur while you are travelling to or from The Event, during the event, or while on the premises of the event.

Personal health and fitness

You understand that participating in The Event is potentially hazardous, and you should not enter and participate unless you are medically able and properly trained. We recommend that you consult your doctor prior to undertaking training for The Event. It is your responsibility to make sure you are medically fit and capable of competing. We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to stop any competitor from taking part if we deem him or her unfit to take part, including mid-race removal from the course where necessary.

Medical treatment while attending The Event

By entering this event, you are confirming that should you require any medical treatments during your attendance at the event, whether before, during or after the actual run, they may be administered by the events’ official medically qualified personnel.

Entry

You must not, under any circumstances, give your race number to anyone else. Amongst other potential problems, doing so may cause problems of identification for The Event medical services in the case of any accident or injury. Any attempt to do so will result in immediate disqualification of the individual(s) concerned and ejection from the event.

Standard Wheel Chairs, bikes, stilts, roller skates, skate boards, buggies, etc

The Rainbow Run course is on hard ground so is suitable for standard wheelchairs and buggies for parents who wish to run with their children. Please be aware that there are sections of the course with a gradual incline and decline so care should be taken for your own safety as well as that of your fellow runners. Participants are not permitted to use bikes, stilts, roller skates, roller blades, skate boards or similar in the event and those attempting to do so will be prohibited from starting and may be forcibly removed from the course mid-race where necessary. Likewise, anyone attempting to start or join the race in any outfit that we, in our absolute discretion, deem unsuitable and/or dangerous to other competitors or spectators, will not be allowed to start The Event or, if on the course, may be forcibly removed from the event.

Cancellation of The Event

We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to cancel, delay or postpone The Event due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances out of our reasonable control. In such cases, we will endeavour to inform participants as quickly as is possible. Where The Event has to be cancelled, delayed or postponed due to circumstances outside of our reasonable control (for example due to adverse weather conditions or as a result of instructions from the emergency services), we shall not be liable for any inconvenience, expenses, costs, losses or damages suffered by participants. Where The Event has to be cancelled, delayed or postponed due to circumstances that were within our reasonable control, our entire liability in respect of any inconvenience, expenses, costs, losses or damages suffered by you as a result will be limited to the entry price you have paid to take part in the event.

Finisher Pack

Only those who finish The Event will be entitled to a Finisher’s Medal. Please do not ask for more than one as marshals have been instructed to only issue one per person and of course your receiving more than one, may deny another Finisher from receiving this item.

Use of Images

By taking part in The Event, you grant full and irrevocable permission to us, as organisers of The Event, and any third parties authorised by us to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of The Event that may include your image.

Collection and use of information

Your personal information will only be used by us and any appointed third parties for purposes in connection with The Event and any subsequent events that we may organise or administer. By entering The Event, you grant full and irrevocable permission for us to pass any medical details you have given us to the medical teams operating on the day of The Event.

Race Numbers

Please complete the relevant medical details on the back of the race number if you have any medical condition or are taking any medication(s).

Ejection

We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to refuse to allow you to participate in The Event either at the start or to continue participation at any point along the route of the event, should you be deemed to behave inappropriately or give cause for concern that your continued participation may cause offence or injury to yourself, any spectators or other competitors. This includes the wearing of any clothing or visual messages that may cause offence. Failure to comply with any instruction from race officials and marshals will result in ejection from The Event and may also result in you being reported to the police.

Change of postal address, email address or telephone number(s)

If your postal address, email address or telephone number details change, then you must inform us as soon as possible by emailing: support@brighton-pride.org

If this is not done, we cannot guarantee that you will receive all race communications.

Age Restrictions

Entrants for contact sports must be over the age of 18 on the day of the event. Entrants for non-contact sports must be over the age of 16 on the day of the event. Entrants for the Rainbow Run must be over the age of 12 on the day of the event. Under 18s must be accompanied at all time by an adult over the age of 21.

Change of address

If you change your address or email address before the event you must notify us to amend your details. Please email support@brighton-pride.org

Animals

Animals will not be permitted on The Event course. We are unable to allow guide dogs on the course but can offer a free place to guided runners. email: support@brighton-pride.org

Refunds and Cancellations

The moment you enter The Event we start to incur administration costs and banking charges, simply in processing your entry and payment. We also incur further charges in administering cancellations and processing refund payments. No refund can be given if The Event has to be cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside our control, for instance due to a bomb scare. Your entry fee is invested in the cost of staging the event, and the main costs to contractors, suppliers, administration etc are already committed well before race day.

Duplicate entries

Duplicate entries made in genuine error will be refunded in full. We reserve the right to cancel all entries and donate all entry fees to the race charity where we have reason to believe that duplicate entries have been deliberately made by an applicant with the intention of subsequent re-sale – i.e. ‘ticket touting’.

Notification of cancellation

Notification of cancellation must be sent either by post to: Pride Diversity Games, Brighton Pride CIC, The Old Ironworks, Unit 2, 30 Cheapside Brighton, BN14GD or via email support@brighton-pride.org

We are sorry but we cannot accept notification of cancellation by phone – it must be in writing.
