Brighton Pride 2016 is set to be the biggest and best yet with a dazzling array of artists, performers and DJs coming together for a stunning Carnival Of Diversity. A fundraising spectacular like no other, Brighton Pride will be a truly magical affair filled with love and laughter, campaigning and partying as we celebrate LGBT+ Pride in the city with a record-breaking Community Pride Parade, sensational Pride Festival in Brighton’s Preston Park, the return of the amazing two-day Pride Village Party and the all new Pride Pleasure Gardens.
Pride Community Parade
The 2016 Pride Community Parade will unite the city of Brighton and Hove together as we celebrate Uniting Nations with a truly inspiring Carnival of Diversity. Over 200,000 spectators are set to enjoy a parade filled with music, incredible floats, and participants from every part of our diverse community including LGBT+ businesses, charities, voluntary organisations and their supporters. So join us as we fill the streets of the UK’s favourite seaside city and celebrate our Carnival of Diversity.
Starting at Hove Lawns the Pride Community Parade will make its way along Kings Road, passing the Peace Statue where so many past Pride marches began and taking in the best of the city’s seafront, ensuring an amazing view for both participants and spectators. The parade will then make its glittering way up West Street, along North Street and London Road before ending in Preston Park, home of the 2016 Pride Festival.

Quite simply the most spectacular, diverse, flamboyant and life affirming alfresco festival. The UK’s leading Pride has something for everyone. 2016 will see the Main Stage return bigger than before with a stunning array of international artists and performers. Over 14 diverse entertainment areas await you including the Wild Fruit Dance Tent, Legends Cabaret Big Top, Bears Zone, Girls Dance Tent, Urban World tent, Shelia McWattie Women’s performance Stage, Community Village, The Trans Community Area, Family Diversity Area, funfair and much more.
Sister Sledge
Are you ready to get Lost In Music? To join our Pride family as we welcome the legendary queens of disco Sister Sledge to Brighton Pride? Yes, this August it is time to become the greatest dancers as we unite together for a spectacular Pride Festival finale show with the global disco sensations that are Sister Sledge.
No party is complete, no dancefloor sound enough without a Sister Sledge track. Be it We Are Family, He’s The Greatest Dancer, Thinking Of You or Lost In Music, Sister Sledge have provided us with the perfect soundtrack to our disco lives.

Carly Rae Jepson, the star with over 1 billion YouTube views, No.1’s in over 47 countries with over 18 million copies sold, 2 Grammy nominations and a coveted AMA’s Best New Artist Award, is coming to celebrate with us at the UK’s biggest and best Pride event. We can’t wait to lip-sync with the pop star’s favourite who’s enjoyed some infamous support from her very famous fans. Be it Katy Perry’s poolside love for Call Me Maybe, Justin Bieber’s lip-synched viral love or Tom Hanks’ brilliant performance in the official video for I Really Like You, millions across the world have watched and joined Carly and friends to lip-sync for their lives.
The 2 Bears
The 2 Bears are our kind of fellas. Driven by a love of house music and shaped by the DJ booths of London clubland, The 2 Bears a.k.a. Raphael ‘Raf Daddy’ Rundell and Joe Goodard’s fabulous furry mix of joyful beard-fuelled house, techno, funk, soul, and ragga has ensured them a place in the hearts of dancefloor devotees across the globe. Their two critically acclaimed albums Be Strong and The Night Is Young has helped produce the kind of live performances and festival appearances that need to be seen to be believed. Frankmusik
Frankmusik is the sound of our synthpop future. Fresh and oh so fierce, Frankmusik is ready to impress with his stunning electro disco sounds. Described by The Guardian as delivering vocals that “proffer an aching humanity that the Little Boots and La Roux’s of this world would do well to learn from”, Frankmusik has been impressing critics and pop aficionados alike since his stunning debut EP Frankisum in 2007. A world-class producer Frankmusik has worked alongside artists including Erasure, Tinchy Stryder, Ellie Goulding and RuPaul. Frankmusik’s latest album For You is a heartfelt electro-pop adventure that enchants with its liberated sexy electro pop sounds that we just can’t get enough of.
DJ Fresh
Life at the top of the charts has become the norm for DJ Fresh a.k.a. Daniel Stein as collaborations with Diplo, Ellie Goulding, Sian, Rita Ora, Ella Eyre, Adam F and High Contrast & Dizzee Rascal ensure him multi-platinum status across the world. Fleur East
Are you ready to play that Sax? Yes the X-Factor sensation and iTunes chart-topping pop star that is Fleur East is coming to Brighton Pride and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s time to taste a little Uptown Funk with the dancing queen of British pop. Promising to light up the Pride Festival main stage at Preston Park with her infectious and energetic performance, Fleur East is the perfect Pride special guest. Expect plenty of Love, Sax and Flashbacks as this North London lass celebrates a Carnival Of Diversity live with Pride, filled with passion and perfect pop.
Alesha Dixon
When Mis-teeq hit our airwaves back in 2001 we instantly fell for Alesha Dixon, the girl from Welwyn Garden City we couldn’t get enough of – nobody brrrrrapped better than Alesha! Swapping her 2-step Fired Up solo career in 2009 for ballroom surprised us all but Alesha made the sparkling ballroom her home and soon became the nations sweetheart thanks to her sensational dancing on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. 2012 saw Alesha become a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, bringing her expertise and love of dance to the UK’s biggest talent show. Fast-forward to 2015 and Alesha returned to the studio with her critically acclaimed solo album Do It For Love. A national dancing treasure whose swagger has ensured primetime is perfect, Alesha continues to rule our hearts, brrrrrapps and all.
Seann Miley Moore
The moment he graced our screens in August 2015 we knew we were witnessing something very special. Captivating from the moment the first note left his lips, Seann Miley Moore became an overnight sensation wowing the nation as his X Factor debut in 2015 become the talking point of our weekend. Since his glorious performances on the X Factor Seann has been touring the UK on a multi-date arena tour with his fellow X Factor contestants as well as featuring on the cover of Gay Times’ December issue. Currently working on brand new material, Seann is an artist we cannot afford to take our eyes off.
Anne-Marie
If we’re gonna do it we’re gonna do it right. And we are doing it so right this Brighton Pride with Anne-Marie, the brilliant electronic-soul songstress lighting up the world with her unique take on r’n’b’ infused pop. An Essex girl set to spark our Pride celebrations just right, Anne-Marie is a staple member of drum’n’bass royalty Rudimental and has been wowing crowds at festivals across the Globe including Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Ibiza Rocks as well as appearing on their No.1 album We The Generation. A summer festival essential, Anne-Marie has been making our sun shine since the release of Rudimental’s brilliant Rumour Mill and we can’t wait to feel her rays at Brighton Pride this August.
Carnival Collective
Pride couldn’t be the spectacular Carnival of Diversity it is without Brighton’s legendary Carnival Collective. The Carnival Collective boasts 30+ musicians and delivers an irresistible tidal wave of energetic music. Brighton’s 21st Century big band, the Carnival Collective sound ranges from live drum & bass and jungle to reggae, cumbia, swing and funk. Returning to Brighton Pride Main Stage after their amazing 2015 debut, the Carnival Collective will deliver a vast bateria of Brazilian drums, shake the ground beneath their fat horn section and dirty basslines, all topped off with lush vocal harmonies. Expect plenty of Carnival Collective wonders including sounds from their brilliant LP Another Thing as this Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party festival favourite delivers a hip-shaking, body moving proud performance.
Munroe Bergdorf
Festival Main Stage hostess and DJ, Munroe Bergdorf is a DJ, model, activist and advocate for the transgender community. She has worked with numerous brands and magazines including Uniqlo, Marie Claire, ES Magazine, GNI Magazine, MEADE Magazine, Digby Jackson and at the re-launch of LGBT+ Switchboard with Tom Daley, Jodie Harsh and Alesha Dixon. Bergdorf regularly appears in the media discussing issues surrounding gender and race including the BBC’s Things Not To Say To A Trans Person, CNN’s My Transgender Life and The Guardian’s Being Happy And Transgender live panel discussion.

Pride Village Party 2016
The Pride Village Party in Brighton’s famous Kemptown is a two-day festive fairground of fabulousness at the heart of the city, filled with partying of the Pride kind. The 2016 Pride Village Party will once again see the city’s iconic seafront closed to traffic as thousands of Pride-goers come together for a unforgettable weekend of fundraising celebrations.
With the backing of local LGBT+ businesses and their supporters, organisations and Brighton & Hove City services, the Pride Village Party is Brighton rocking at it’s very finest, placing community fundraising at its heart and establishing itself as a much-loved and unique addition to the city’s Pride celebrations.
Entertainment zones, bars and venues throughout the St James Street area will deliver non-stop sunshine what ever the weather as DJs, drag artists, singers, performers, musicians and party-goers combine to mark a truly magnificent event as we party with a fundraising purpose for Pride all weekend.

Pride Pleasure Gardens
Roll up, roll up for a perfect weekend as Brighton Pride presents the all-new Pride Pleasure Gardens. Victoria Gardens will feature the Pride Community Stage, with special performances throughout Pride. Entry is free all weekend apart from a special ticketed Rainbow Fund benefit concert starring Heather Peace and Lucy Spraggan on Friday 5th from 6pm.
Street Diner, Brighton’s hottest street food market, will create the perfect Pride weekend menu at the all new Pride Food Village delivering the best in locally sourced food, allowing you to relax and recharge in the centre of the city. Add entertainment courtesy of a Pride Community Stage and bar and Victoria Gardens is set to sparkle with Pride.
The Old Steine will be transformed into an exotic Pride experience with a Pleasure Gardens & Pride Pavilion featuring entertainers, street performers and a kitchen area destined to dazzle your taste buds. Pride Unplugged will be an evening of unparalleled acoustic live music and entertainment as some of the finest female performers from across the UK join together for a night under the stars.
Pride Unplugged will see the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Heather Peace join Pride favourite Lucy Spraggan to celebrate the best of the women’s performance scene, ensuring our Pride weekend of festivities is launched with style.
Sink The Pink
Pleasure is coming to Brighton Pride Sink the Pink style this summer as London’s legendary glitter fuelled, wigtastic, beard beautiful, serendipitous creation taps into the hedonism of those glorious Blitz club-kid New Romantic days. Enchanting clubland since 2008 when founders Glyn Fussell and Amy Redmond, a.k.a. Glynfamous and Amy Zing, decided to question everything we know about LGBT+ clubbing, performing at festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Latitude, Lovebox and Brighton Pride alongside superstar DJ Fatboy Slim, Sink The Pink will deliver a glittering experience like no other with colourful club kids, fashion trannies, large scale dance routines and lip-syncs.
English Disco Lovers
Want your disco fabulous, fun and with a sense of sparkling social cohesion? Then the English Disco Lovers will deliver as they head to Brighton Pride’s Pleasure Gardens Pride Pavilion for a party with a conscience. The English Disco Lovers have perfectly reclaimed, redefined and Google-bombed the acronym ‘EDL’ through the medium of Disco. Using humour and reflecting the black, Latino and gay roots of disco, the English Disco Lovers draw perfectly on the positivity of Disco. The English Disco Lovers will bring the heart and soul of partying to Brighton Pride this summer, promising a night of disco classics. But when you’ve broken down barriers and partied across the UK, a night of pure disco fabulousness is glitter guaranteed at Brighton Pride’s Pleasure Gardens this Pride Sunday.
Dynamite Boogaloo
From 1992 until 2009, the dazzling and dynamic trio of Boogaloo Stu, Dynamite Sal and Dolly Rocket ruled Brighton club land with their riotous and playfully anarchic parties. 2016 and the clubbing phenomenon that is Dynamite Boogaloo returns for a legendary pop’n’cabaret knees-up at Brighton Pride’s Pleasure Gardens. Relive the seaside’s favourite night for party boys and girls that has captivated Brighton for so many saucy years as a truly mixed up crowd of freaks, geeks and disco sweets come together for this fabulously outlandish club-cum-cabaret night fuelled by music as eclectic and fabulous as Dynamite Boogoloo’s clientele.
