Lunch Positive stages a Community Café in the Community Village at Pride this year. The Community Café will serve a range of affordable hot food, tea, coffee, cakes and cold drinks – all raising funds for charity. The Community Café will have a seating area, and is situated in the heart of the Community Village on Preston Park. Everyone is invited to come along to the Community Café, which will be staffed by Lunch Positive volunteers. On the menu will be beef burgers, meatballs, vegan rice dishes, and home-made cakes. Every penny raised will support the Lunch Positive HIV Lunch Club, and will have direct impact on the community.
Lunch Positive is a local charity, rooted in the community. The HIV lunch club runs in central Brighton every Friday, and has over 150 members. The charity’s values are acceptance, empathy, and supportiveness. Lunch Positive is a genuine grassroots organisation, provided by people with HIV for their peers, and supporting people in a diverse range of ways. The service is delivered entirely by volunteers, and brings people together to share friendship & peer support, provides access to good nutrition, health & wellbeing activities, crisis and specialist support, and accessible volunteering.
