Brighton Pride Social Impact Fund is proud to have helped the LGBT Safety Forum with a grant towards staging costs of the B Right On LGBT+ Festival.

The Rainbow Fund have also announced a small grants round to enable local LGBT+/HIV groups delivering effective front line services to the LGBT+ communities in our city to take part in the B Right On LGBT+ Festival for Brighton & Hove LGBT+ History Month which will run from the 3rd to the 19th of February.

The overall aim of B Right On LGBT+ Festival is to promote unity, equality and diversity for the benefit of the city and it will hosted at New Steine Gardens with events also taking place at the Jubilee Library and The New Steine Hotel. The Phil Starr Pavilion on New Steine Gardens will be home to the festival, which is being coordinated by the LGBT Community Safety Forum. The festival will open with a Fundraising Gala Night for the Rainbow Fund on Friday the 3rd of February hosted by Miss Jason and featuring an array of local performers.

Events planned for the B Right On LGBT+ Festival include a Mental Health Day organised by MindOut, Allsorts Younger Persons Day, Lunch Positive’s HIV History Day and Big Community Lunch, Village Community Church Faith Days, Accessibility Matters’ Disability Visibility Day, Bingo Night, LGBT Community Safety Forum outreach project’s LGBT+ Worker & Volunteer Fair, a Tea Dance and a Family Day, Stella Michaels’ Trans Lives photo exhibition, The LGBT Community Safety Forums Accessibility Matters Disabled LGBT Lives exhibition and an exploration of LGBT+ spirituality at Soul Safari.

Add Divas with Aneesa Chaudhry, Jennie Castell, Gabriella Parish and Hannah Brackenbury, a Rocky Horror In The Park sing-a-long party, Sound Waves’ night of live music from a collective of local LGBT Musicians and bands, the return of the historic LGBT+ History Ball hosted by Brighton’s legendary jazz performer Nicky Mitchell and Celebration! a sparkling event celebrating 25 years of the Sussex Beacon with Maisie Trollette, Myra Dubois, Lorraine Bowen, Miss Jason, Dave Lynn, Davina Sparkle, Kara Van Park and Sally Vate and B Right On LGBT+ Festival promises to light up the city this spring.
