American Express is continuing its partnership with Brighton & Hove Pride by supporting the 2018 Community Village, which gives local charities and community groups an opportunity to meet festival goers and display the work they do to support and advance LGBTQ+ causes.

Brighton & Hove Pride, taking place from 3-5 August 2018 is the UK’s biggest LGBTQ+ Pride Festival and also the biggest annual festival in Brighton and Hove, attracting over 400,000 participants and visitors last year from across Sussex and further afield.

This year’s event, themed ‘Colour my World’ is expected be the most colourful yet, in a celebration of the original eight colour Rainbow flag created 40 years ago. This year also marks the tenth year of American Express colleague participation in the Community Pride Parade. More than 100 colleagues are taking part in this year’s Parade and many more will be lining the route with family members and friends.

Tim Ehinger, Executive Vice President, American Express and Executive Sponsor of the Amex Pride Colleague Network said: “We are immensely proud to be continuing our partnership with Brighton Pride for the fifth year and supporting their incredible work. We’re looking forward to being part of what promises to be a spectacular and colourful showcase of Brighton’s diverse community.”

Paul Kemp, Managing Director, Brighton Pride Community Interest Company, said: “Brighton Pride has evolved over the years with more communities coming together to celebrate every aspect of our city, regardless of sexuality, race, gender, age or ability. We are delighted that American Express is continuing its support. The support we receive from partners is crucial to deliver one of our City’s most lively and best attended events.”

The Community Village is located next to Gate A at the southernmost tip of Preston Park. It encompasses charity and community stalls, the Family Diversity Area, the Well Being Tent, the Meeting Tent and the Rotunda Ballroom. The Community Village will be open to festival goers on Saturday 4 August from 12-7pm.
