Brighton & Hove Community Parade 2024: Statement on Sisters Salon application
Sisters Salon’s application to be part of the annual Brighton & Hove Pride Community Parade has not been approved.
We sincerely apologise to our trans siblings and the community for any upset caused by the delay while we carried out internal enquiries and review our parade procedures.
Brighton & Hove Pride has inclusive principles with strong support for all in the LGBTQI+ community.
Pride has multi-stage procedures for processing parade group applications, which run over several months before Pride. Sisters Salon’s application was not completed when they announced they were taking part.
We would like to clarify Sister Salon’s submission did not meet our LGBTQI+ inclusive parade conditions to take part.
We are sorry it has taken time to assess the details of Sisters Salon’s application and give this update.
We will be reaching out to trans organisations in the city to apologise directly.
The Brighton & Hove Pride Community Parade is a diverse event and a safe space for all our LGBTQI+ community.
