Brighton Pride Festival

The Brighton Pride Festival is widely recognised as the biggest and most popular Pride event in the UK. It is a glorious, life-affirming spectacular in the city’s beautiful Preston Park, fuelled by pride, love and campaigning. A day filled with world-class entertainment, community and celebrations, it is the UK’s biggest, best and most flamboyant of Pride events.

A sparkling array of internationally renown performers, artists, DJs, musicians, campaigners and cabaret stars such as the Human League, Ella Henderson, Fatboy Slim, Tulisa, Hercules and Love Affair, Ms Dynamite, Jess Glynn, Katy B and The Freemasons have wowed the Brighton Pride Festival crowds with joyously proud performances over the past two years.

From the star studded main stage to the many dance areas, the huge Legends Cabaret Big Top, the Urban Dance Tent, the grizzly Bears and Men’s tent, the unique Pride Literature Live Tent, the Family Diversity Area and the Community Village with its mix of stalls by local and national charities, groups and organisations, there really is something for everyone at Brighton Pride.

Pride will be making artist announcements from early March and throughout the months in the run up to Pride on Saturday 6th August.

£17.50 First release tickets are now on sale.

Pride Community Parade 2016

Saturday 6th August will see the streets of Brighton and Hove come alive with Pride as the city unites to celebrate Brighton Pride’s Carnival of Diversity. Community groups, businesses, charitable organisations, musicians, performers and 200,000 participants and spectators will join together in a truly spellbinding extravaganza as we bring colour, fun and sparkle to the UK’s biggest and best Pride event.

Over the last three years Pride has raised over £200,000 for community good causes as Brighton Pride enjoyed its biggest community parade to date. 2016 looks set to surpass those records as Pride set its sights on the global LGBT+ Pride movement.

The theme for 2016 is Uniting Nations, a once in a lifetime opportunity to cherish our global Pride movement as we honour and celebrate the worldwide LGBT+ community. Be it the sights and salsa flavoured sounds of San Paulo’s Brazil Pride, the stylish sights of Berlin Pride, the sunny exuberance of Sydney Mardi Gras, the bravery of the participants of Uganda Pride or the Russian activists defying 100-year Pride ban in Moscow, Brighton Pride’s Uniting Nations will encapsulate the guts and the glory of Pride’s global spirit.

Join the Brighton Pride Community Parade and help us create a truly unforgettable day, filled with diversity, vibrancy, passion and Pride love. Join Pride in Uniting Nations and help shine a rainbow coloured spotlight across the world as we connect, celebrate, campaign and fundraise with class and a global conscience.

Pride Director says : Pride has evolved over the years with more communities coming together to celebrate every aspect of our city, regardless of sexuality, race, gender, age or ability. It’s important not to go back to themes that trivialise the important message behind the Pride Celebration, but to continue to highlight the lives and struggles of LGBT+ people across the world as we strive for equality for all.

Entries for the community parade are now open at Brighton-Pride.org and there is a 10% early bird discount until end Feb.
