We are delighted to welcome the fabulous Alesha Dixon to our 2016 line up of Brighton Pride Festival performers. A national singing, dancing and TV treasure, Alesha is a stylish star we are thrilled will be shining with Brighton Pride this summer.

When Mis-teeq hit our airwaves back in 2001 we instantly fell for Alesha Dixon, the girl from Welwyn Garden City we couldn’t get enough of – nobody brrrrrapped better than Alesha. Mis-Teeq’s unique UK garage sound had us hooked as hit after hit including Why, All I Want and One Night Stand kept us lovin’ it, lovin’ it, lovin’ it. When Alesha launched her solo career in 2006 the 2-step love affair with Britain’s finest garage girl continued as she got us Fired Up with her lipsmacking Lipstick.

Swapping 2-step for ballroom in 2007 surprised us all but Alesha made the sparkling ballroom her home and soon became the nations sweetheart thanks to her sensational dancing on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. Alesha and her partner Matthew Cutler received a record breaking 4.5 million votes in the final, ensuring they won the glitter disco ball.

Alesha’s tunes continued to glitter with her 2008 platinum release The Alesha Show and she brought much needed style to primetime TV when she returned as a Strictly Come Dancing judge in 2009. Add another class adventure with her 2010 longplayer The Entertainer and the stage was set for Alesha to continue to shine.

2012 Alesha saw become a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, bringing her expertise and love of dance to the UK’s biggest talent show. Heels were kicked high and the spins were sensational as acts including Attraction and Collabo wowed the nation and Alesha buzzed with pride for four Britain’s Got Talent series.

Fast forward to 2015 and Alesha returned to the studio with her critically acclaimed solo album Do It For Love, a anthem filled wonder that perfectly captures the strength and endurance of one of the UK’s most beloved of pop stars. A national dancing treasure whose swagger has ensured primetime is perfect, Alesha continues to rule our hearts, brrrrrapps and all.
